My husband and I run a bed and breakfast, so we get to meet lots of interesting people. A couple of years ago, we had the pleasure of hosting Captain Eric Forsyth. I didn’t know “who” he was, but we got to chatting and it turned out he was also a sailor. Then in his early 80’s, he was on his way to Long Island to pick up his boat for another single-handed passage across the Atlantic to Scotland. What??!!!
At the other end of the sailing arc, I spent a few fun weeks this past summer teaching the basics of sailing to some pretty young kids. Like, some as young as seven. In New York Harbor… Not for the faint of heart!
